THE BIRTH OF JESUS

Luke 2:4-7

And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)

To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.

And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.

And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

Almighty and Everlasting Father, thank You for counting us worthy of Your mercy that endures forever in all our lives in Jesus name. Amen.

To You Father Lord, be all the glory for all that Your Holy Spirit has revealed to us about this yuletide season. Thank You our Father in Jesus name. Amen.

Today, we wish to discuss what happened after Angel Gabriel brought the message of the virgin conception to Mary.

Immediately after the message from Angel Gabriel who also told Mary that her cousin Elizabeth was already 6 months gone in pregnancy, she quickly left on a visit to Elizabeth and spent about 3 months with her and returned. Though not stated but I guess she returned after her cousin Elizabeth had given birth to her son John the Baptist.

When Mary's pregnancy advanced, her husband had to take her from Nazareth where they were to Bethlehem to be numbered in form of a census according to the decree then. On their way, Mary fell into labour and because there was no Inn for them to lodge, they found a manger where sheep were kept, and right there, Mary delivered her first born son Jesus.

There was no doctor, nurse, nor midwife, no medical facility and the Saviour of the world was born in such a lowly place. He was even wrapped in swaddling clothes (rags) and laid in the manger. There was no complications, no lack of water, no bleeding, no placenta retention etc. Everything aligned to God's will and purpose. 

This is the confidence I have, that any blessing you are believing and trusting God for will be fulfilled beyond your expectation this season of the birth of Lord in Jesus name. 

Beloved you and I, have every reason to celebrate the birth of the Lord Jesus, who is the Saviour of the world.

Thank You Lord for agreeing to come into the world to rescue mankind from the power of darkness, sin and satan, restoring our stolen glory and reconciling man back to His Maker for eternity Happy birthday Lord Jesus.

God alone is my Source of health and strength.
