JESUS, THE EVERLASTING FATHER

Isaiah 9:6,

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Father, To You Oh Lord be all the glory, honour, and adoration forever in Jesus name. Amen.

One of the titles of Jesus as prophesied by Isaiah is The Everlasting Father.

How can Jesus, who is referred to as the Son of God be Father again?

Beloved, Jesus is God come down to earth through the virgin birth and became man.

Before His virgin birth, He came severally as Lord to earth to carry out specific assignments.

In Exodus 3vs2-6, He appeared to Moses in the Burning bush. He told Moses that He is God of their fathers. If He is God, He is Father.

In Genesis 18vs1, He visited Abraham with the good news that Sarah was going to have a son. It happened as recorded in Genesis 21vs1-3.

In Genesis 22vs16, He called Abraham's attention to a Ram for his sacrifice instead of Isaac his son.

In Exofus 12vs29, He killed all the first male born of man and beast in Egypt to free the Israelites from their bondage there.

In Exodus 14vs26-29, He buried Pharaoh and his army alive in the same Red Sea where He made a way for the Israelites to cross to safety and became free forever from their Egyptian slavery.

Jesus was doing the work of The Father on earth ever before His virgin birth. This was why Isaiah rightly prophesied about 700 years before His birth that He will be called THE EVERLASTING FATHER.

Beloved, I don't want you to get confused when Jesus is called God because we have only one Sovereign God who is our Father.

Look at this simple illustration. 

In a home, the MAN is the head of the family. This MAN is a HUSBAND to the wife and at the same time a FATHER to the children

Are there 3 men in the house? No. One man in 3 capacities.

Look at an EGG for instance. You have the SHELL, the ALBUMEN which is the white and the YOKE which is the yellow. 3 of them combined to make an Egg. 

Are there 3 Eggs? No.

Jesus is God who functions in His capacity as the Saviour and Redeemer of the world. If God, He is The Father.

Please beloved, do not be confused or allow yourself to be decieved when ignorant ones tell you that christians serve 3 gods. No, it's not true.

I have just explained by the leading of God's Spirit in the simplest form that Jesus is not another god.

Always remember that about 700 years before He was born Prophet Isaiah had prophesied about His virgin birth. The titles Isaiah mentioned clearly define what His mission on earth was going to be. He is still acting in those capacity.

EVERLASTING FATHER is one of such titles which those who believe in Him are benefitting from now on earth and will continue enjoying in the hereafter.

In the next post if Jesus delays His coming, we will look at His role as The Everlasting Father. Before then, let us on a daily basis surrender totally to God by rededicating our lives to Him and living to please Him at all times.
