Matthew 2:12-14, 16
And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way.
And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him.
When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt:
Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently enquired of the wise men.
Glory be to God. We are alive again today! Thank You Father Lord in Jesus name. Amen.
The eternal purpose of Jesus was resisted by satan , even right from His birth. Somehow, satan though not too clear about the mission of Jesus on earth, used Hetod to try to kill Him after He was born. He thought that the kingship of Jesus was of this world, and that He was goung to take his crown and throne from him. Through the visiting king's that came from the East to seek Jesus the King of the Jews, having seen His star, Herod became very troubled. He perfected plans with the visiting kings that they should report back to him when they find Him so that he too could go and worship Him, but in actual fact thought to kill Jesus, the new born King..
God visited the kings in a dream and warned them not to return to Herod which they obeyed and went home another way. If Herod had succeeded in killing the Baby Jesus at birth, His eternal purpose would have been truncated and the world would have been doomed. Remember, His purpose of coming into the world was to redeem man from Satan/sin and reconcile man back to God.
This is why there is so much joy in this season. Any good Christian must celebrate the birth of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ knowing what His birth signifies.
This singular act of God warning the visiting kings, frustrated Herod, and makes me know that God will always be with us to deliver us from all our enemies. Glory be to God.
I want to let us know that king Herod went further in his devilish plans to eliminate Jesus by killing all children born around the time that Jesus was born. He killed all the children who were about 2 years from when Jesus was born. It was a mass slaughter of children in Bethlehem and its environs.
Matthew 2vs16-18.
God in His bid to protect and preserve Jesus, visited Joseph in a dream and warned him to flee to Egypt with the child Jesus and His mother Mary because Herod was seeking for the child to kill Him, and Joseph did so when he woke up.
Beloved, God has His children in mind and will always do everything possible to protect, sustain, and preserve them. Halleluya.
It is important for us to know what this season stands for, which is that we are celebrating God's large heart of love m giving us Jesus who came to liberate the world from satan, darkness, sin and hell. This was a huge sacrifice which we must appreciate, emulate, and also demonstrate in our own little way to others.
It is also important for us to understand that Christmas season is beyond holidaying, clubbing, partying, house warming, marriage celebrations, dedications, and much more.
SINCE JESUS IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON LET OUR CELIBERATIONS BE WOVEN AROUND THAT UNDERSTANDING.
God alone is my Source of health and strength.

PRAYERS
Dear heavenly Father, I covet the Spirit of discernment. Please Lord, anoint my eyes and ears to see and hear beyond the ordinary in Jesus name. Amen.
