EVENTS AFTER THE BIRTH OF JESUS

Matthew 2:1-3  

Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,

Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.

When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.

Glory and honour we give unto You, Jehovah God Almighty, for Your mercy that endures forever. Thank You Father in Jesus name. Amen.

Three things happened after the news of the birth of Jesus spread round the world.

Firstly, a unique Star appeared in the East world, which on enquiry announced the birth of a great King in Jerusalem to the Jews. Star gamers and Astrologers who saw it alerted the wise men, who decided to follow this Star to where the King of the Jews according to them was born. This unique Star led them into Jerusalem and from there to Bethlehem, where they found Mary, Joseph and the young child laid in a manger. They rejoiced greatly when they saw the young child. They gave Him gifts of Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh which they took from their treasures. 

Note that the journey of the wise men from the East, through Jerusalem to Bethlehem must have been in a space of about 2 years.

At the time the Star led the wise men to Bethlehem, Jesus was no longer a baby but a young Child. 

I read somewhere in Church history that one of these highly priced spices given to Jesus at birth by the wise men, was what Mary His mother brought with which the body of Jesus was prepared before His burial.

The 2nd event that happened after Jesus was born was that when the wise men from the East got to Jerusalem, they enquired where they can find the new born King of the Jews, who they saw His Star, 

When king Herod heard it, he was very troubled that another king was born in His kingdom. He then told the wise men to return back to him after they have found the child so he could go and visit Him too. After the wise men visited Jesus, God appeared to them in a dream and told the wise men not to return to Herod as he thought to harm the child. These men then returned through another way to the East.

As soon as these wise men left Bethlehem, God told Joseph in a dream one night, to wake up and flee to Egypt with his family as Herod will seek the child to destroy Him.

Joseph woke from his dream and ran away with his family to Egypt as God had told him. He was there untill Herod who sought to kill the child had died and God came to him again in a dream to return.

Over that issue bothering you, God will visit you tonight in Jesus name. Amen

The 3rd thing that happened was that when Herod waited and never saw or heard of the wise men again, he was very angry, knowing they have decieved him. This led him to locate and kill all children from 2 years downwards about the age that he found out that Jesus was born. 

VERY TERRIBLE!

Even at that, he couldn't kill Jesus.

The God that saved and preserved Jesus from Herod is your God dearly beloved. I decree that whoever plans, plots, or conspires to kill you will destroy themselves as God will deliver you from them in Jesus name.

TOMORROW IS CHRISTMAS DAY, MAKE SURE THAT YOU IMPACT ONE LIFE AT LEAST FOR JESUS, IF HE TARRIES.

DEMONSTRATE THE LOVE OF GOD TO OTHERS.

God alone is my Source of health and strength.

And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.

PRAYERS.

Father Lord, please arise in Your fury, and frustrate the devices of the crafty that they will not be able to accomplish their wickedness against me and mine in Jesus name. Amen.
