He that diggeth a
pit shall fall into it; and whoso breaketh an hedge, a serpent shall bite him.
Ecclesiastes 10:8
I am fearfully and wonderfully made by the God who does wonders
without numbers. Glory be to God.
For anyone who is truly surrendered to the Most High God, there is
an impenetrable hedge of safety and protection around them which is not visible
to our physical eyes.
In the Book of Job 1vs6-11, when God asked satan if he had tried
Job's faithfulness to Him. Satan responded and asked how could he, when God has
a hedge around Job and everything that belongs to him. Job 1vs9-12.
Waooh, beloved, what this means is that there is a hedge of safety
and protection around all children of God and their possessions.
What is this
hedge therefore?
It is a Divine Protection against accidents, sicknesses,
infirmities, afflictions, untimely death, failure, witches and wizards, and so
on and so forth.
What then can break this hedge?
Sin breaks the
hedge.
So why was Job afflicted by satan when God testified of his
righteousness?
God allowed the devil to afflict Job just to prove his
faithfulness to God. God also warned the devil not to touch his soul. Job
1vs12.
Samson's downfall was as a result of breaking the hedge. He loved
and sinned with strange women severally, which was against God's will for his
life. Judges 14vs2‐3.
Uzzah touched the Ark of God which he was not supposed to do, God
was angry with him and smote him and he died on the spot. 2 Samuel 6vs6-7.
David broke the hedge once but quickly repented but suffered
terrible consequences for that one act. Till date the house of David (Israel)
is still fighting wars. God told David that the sword will never depart from
his house. 2 Samuel 12vs7-10.
What does it mean
for the hedge to be broken?
Children of God are protected or shielded by the Shikena Glory of
God. Once you sin, God's covering of glory, departs and such a person is
exposed to the devil and all his attacks and affliction. Nature does not allow
any vacuum. If glory departs, pains and shame takes over. When God's covering
of glory left Samson, he wanted to act as before but he never knew that God's
glory had left him, and it was too late and the enemy who had been looking for
him, set in immediately, caught him, and the first thing they did was to pluck
out his eyes. Judges 16vs18-21.
Let's all repent from all our errors and sins committed at one
time or the other, because, we all have sinned and fallen short of God's glory.
Roman 3vs23.
Again if we say we have no sin, we have no truth in us and so
decieve ourselves. 1 John 1vs8.
Let Us Pray
·
Dear heavenly Father thank You for this great reminder that we are
Sinners who need to repent.
·
Father Lord, we repent of all our
sins. We are sorry Lord. Father forgive us.
·
Father Lord, please restore to us the
lost glory, and let Your Presence go with us.
·
Thank You Father Lord, for
forgiveness, and for restoration by Your mercies that fail not.
·
Thank You Father Lord, for hearing and
answering us in Jesus name.
·
Amen.
·
God alone is my Source of health and
strength.
Memory Verse.
For all have
sinned, and come short of the glory of God.
Romans 3:23
PRAYERS
Father Lord, please, help me to live a life of sacrifice, with the
consciousness of one who carries God's glory in Jesus name. Amen.
